Crismelly is currently a law clerk at The Law Offices of Lloyd E. Bennett Esq., P.C.. Her passion for immigration law is rooted in her own immigration story. Crismelly was born in the Dominican Republic and later became a naturalized citizen of the United States. During law school, Crismelly was a student attorney at the Safe Passage Project, a non-profit organization that represents children in their immigration process. She conducted initial screenings of the clients, drafted legal memos in support of clients’ motions, and assisted in other stages in the representation of children who are now lawful permanent residents.
Crismelly worked as an immigration paralegal for eight years at a well-respected solo practitioner firm in Rockland County, NY while attending school. She also volunteered as a Spanish interpreter for multiple non-profit immigration organizations that provide free legal services to foreign nationals, such as CUNY Citizenship Now, Make the Road NY, and AL Otro Lado.
Crismelly graduated from New York Law School in 2021 and is awaiting the results of the July 2021 Uniform Bar Examination.
