Hudson County Bar Association Year-End MEGA CLE

Lloyd E. Bennett presented a seminar at the Hudson County Bar Association’s annual year-end MEGA CLE. He joined other attorneys at this event to speak about the current state of immigration enforcement and relief options that were currently available. What a great way to end the year, in thoughtful and meaning full conversation!

Habeas Training at Seton Hall Law School

What an honor it was to attend a Habeas training at Seton Hall Law School. We engaged in thoughtful discussion surrounding emerging habeas issues, including custody challenges and confinement conditions, key statutory and jurisdictional requirements, and strategies for seeking TRO’s and preliminary injunctions. This training was available to students, faculty, and fellow practitioners and we look forward to more trainings like this with our community.

24th Annual AILA New York Chapter Immigration Law Symposium

Immigration policy’s frequent changes create profound uncertainty for aspiring immigrants. Attending the 24th Annual AILA New York Chapter Immigration Law Symposium provided in-depth, up-to-the-minute guidance to us at The Law Office of Lloyd E. Bennett, Esq., P.C. across several key immigration law practice areas. Topics covered included business immigration, family immigration, removal and relief, humanitarian issues, consular processing, and ethics and practice management. One of the biggest takeaways from the Symposium was the expert faculty who provided practical strategies to navigate the latest developments and trends involving various government agencies, including ICE, CBP, USCIS, and the U.S. Department of State.

AILA Annual Conference

Lloyd E. Bennett attended the American Immigration Lawyers Association annual conference in  Denver, Colorado in June 2025. This annual conference offered extensive networking opportunities and access to experts in the field. Not only did the conference sharpen legal skills, but it also reinforced the sense of mission shared among immigration advocates nationwide. Attending this conference is a great way to stay up to date on the ever-changing legal updates and discussions on policy changes, allowing The Law Office of Lloyd E. Bennett, Esq., P.C. to serve our clients with up-to-date and efficient strategies.

AILA National Day of Action

In April of 2025, Lloyd E. Bennett traveled to Washington, D.C., to attend the American Immigration Lawyers Association National Day of Action. Lloyd E. Bennett joined hundreds of immigration lawyers on Capitol Hill to advocate for changes to immigration policy. He advocated for protection for the undocumented and the creation of a pathway to legalization; immigration enforcement that is effective, fair, and orderly, and laws that are consistently applied. Attendance at the AILA National Day of Action was our way of educating elected officials that enforcement alone is not the answer.

St. Peter’s University Speaking Engagement

On November 3, 2025, Attorneys Lloyd Bennett and Alexander Mena will speak to students at St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, NJ. This event will cover the current state of affairs regarding immigration in New Jersey. 

Union City Law Day

We are grateful for the opportunity our attorney, Alexander Mena, had to sit on the immigration panel for the 2025 Union City Law Day. There was a great turnout this year. Attorneys from several fields were available to meet one-on-one after the panel presentation. We are proud to support an initiative that provides the opportunity for residents to receive free legal advice from experts in different legal fields. Our participation in this event demonstrates our continued commitment to supporting the rights of immigrants within our community.

Know Your Rights Seminar

The Law Office of Lloyd E. Bennett, Esq. P.C. was honored to present a Know Your Rights Seminar at the St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Fairview, NJ. The seminar served as an educational workshop prioritizing the rights, protection, and safety of immigrants. We discussed what to do if encountered by ICE or confronted with an immigration raid or police action. Our attorneys were available after the seminar to answer any questions participants had. We are proud to participate in such an event that promotes legal knowledge and empowerment within our communities.
