Mr. Bennett Goes to Washington (Again)

On 4/6/17 I along with about 500 other immigration lawyers from all over the US traveled to Washington DC to meet with our representatives to discuss the current state of immigration reform. I along with other members of the NJ Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association personally met with Congressman Albio Sires, Congressman Leonard Lance, Senator Cory Booker and Senator Robert Menendez and staff members from Congressman Frelinghuysen, Pascarell and Gottheimer's offices.

I traveled to DC in an effort to hold our representatives accountable for the new aggressive immigration policies put forth by the Trump administration. I brought a message of fear and confusion and lobbied for a common sense change that would strengthen America, bring the undocumented out of the shadows, protect families and add billions of dollars to state and local tax revenue.

The following day I attended a spring CLE event in which we heard from and questioned upper level officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of State. We also met and discussed important policy changes at USCIS and the Executive Office of Immigration Review.
